What’s the Big Deal About Inflammation?

There’s a lot of talk these days about inflammation, and you may have even heard the term “inflammaging” used, referring to inflammation that is persistent and causes cellular damage. So what’s the big deal about inflammation, and why should we care about it?
The Gift of Inflammation
When the body is functioning ideally, inflammation is actually an amazing process. If a person has an infection or injures themselves, the body sends resources to fight the bacteria or virus, or to heal the injured area. Inflammation is the way the body heals itself when something goes wrong. But this response is meant to only last a short time, and when it continues, it becomes chronic inflammation, which can be extremely harmful to the body.

When Inflammation Turns Chronic
Some of the causes of chronic inflammation include infections that don’t heal, psychological stress, environmental toxins, physical inactivity, and imbalances in the bacteria of the gut. In some cases, lifestyle choices can help reduce chronic inflammation, but in other cases, such as with environmental toxins, some level of inflammation is unavoidable. When chronic inflammation is left unchecked, it can lead to a wide range of issues, including autoimmune disease, cardiovascular problems, neurological issues, and depression.¹ More than 50% of all deaths have been attributed to inflammation-related diseases, making inflammation the current most significant cause of death in the world.²

So What Can We Do?
We can reduce the level of chronic inflammation in our bodies by making wise choices in diet, such as avoiding processed foods and inflammatory oils, like soy, peanut, and vegetable oil, and consuming a high-quality, COOC-certified olive oil on a daily basis. Getting regular exercise and healing mental health triggers is important as well.

The AO Scan also helps to reduce inflammation in the entire body, particularly from the things we can’t control, such as environmental toxins. The Vitals Scan sends optimizing frequencies in areas such as pesticides, molds, EMF exposure, and air pollution. And the Comprehensive Scan looks deeply at the body’s function, down to the cellular, chromosome, and DNA levels, and optimizes the imbalances it finds, which can lead to reduced inflammation and a less toxic environment for the immune system to function in.

While optimizing our lifestyle choices, adding in regular AO Scans is a great way to assist our bodies in reducing chronic inflammation and supporting their natural healing processes. If you would like more information about how to start an AO Scan membership and receive the Vitals and Comprehensive Scans directly from your home, you can contact me via the information on the Contact page.
